Life Without the Net?
So I post at this forum and this teenage kid that post there is a youtube video maker too. One day he said that we should make a movie together and I said sure why not. So we got to talking and he came up with the idea of having a video where the internet didn't exist and what it would be like. I told him that sounded cool, and he said that I should write a script. So I wrote a script one night at work and sent it to him to check out. He then took the basic Idea and turned changed the whole thing around. I didn't care much though, and I told him I would go ahead and film my lines for him. So I filmed my part in about an hour, and sent it to him via Youtube. He then did all the editing and all that. He asked if I was okay with him just sticking it on his youtube page, and I told him it was fine.
It is a really silly video, and pretty stupid actually (This coming from the guy who made The Gallon Challenge, But it was kind of fun to make, and I figured I would let you all have the oppertunity to watch it, if you like.

Christmas '08
It was a good one...
I woke up at 3am to start dinner for the family. I was nervous because I was taking on a smoked brisket. I had never smoked any kind of meat before, let alone a brisket. Romina woke up right away too, so we hung out for a while and enhoyed some alone time....if ya know what i mean! Santa came early for me!
Kids woke up around 7:30 and they got to open presents...I realized something as Gabe opened his presents. Sesame Street is out of control. I have never seen so many Elmo presents in all of my life. Don't belive me? Check this out!
Well, at 3pm. The family all started arriving for the big feast. After Dad, Casey, and myself pulled moms van out of the snow, we all started to chow down! My brisket was enjoyed by all. At least I think it was. Dad even said it was a lot better than he thought it was gonna be. Which in my family is the best kind of compliment one can get.
After dinner, my father-in-law decided he wanted to go home, and since that meant having to move my moms van, and that meant having to move Alans van, everybody went home. So Romina and I sat around and watched Gabe and Lincoln play with their new toys.
After a bit, we finally worked up the energy to clean up and leave the house clean! That was the biggest accomplishment of all! A clean house at the end of Christmas day. Soon after the kids went to sleep and so did Romina and I. Looking at the entire day, it really was a great Christmas!

The Mullet
My parents are often on my case about cutting my son Gabe's hair. It was getting pretty long, and most of the time it was covering the poor boys eyes.
I have told my parents on more than one occasion that if they wanted to take him and get his hair cut, that was fine by Romina and I. I don't do it just because I can't imagine what a pain it would be to keep him sitting still for the duration of the cut.
Grandma got smart though. Two days ago Gabe and Lincoln were hanging out at Grandma's and she decided she would cut Gabe's bangs so he could see again. She trimmed a bit on the side and around his ears too. The result. Gabe is sporting a Mullet! Yeah, the mullet. Buisiness in the front, Party in the back. I will be taking some pics before we go and get him a hair cut. After all it isn't everyday you have a mullet.
I think that Grandma had this planed all along. Give him a mullet and Marc will be bound to give him a haircut. Well, it worked. All I can say is, 'Touche Mom, Touche.'

An Email
So I wrote my cousin TJ an Email today. I liked it so I decided to post it here for all to read. (meaning Brianne and possibly dad.)
i recall telling you that i would write you at least once while you were on your mission and this is number three already. But that is ok.
Not much going on around here. Workin hard here inside the prison. It is lots of fun. I get to yell and be mean to the guys here. Well, when they deserve it that is. No customer service here.
So I am glad that you are enjoying the work. Here is my deep thought for today.
I was always counting down the time until i had left. And I was so happy to be home. I couldnt wait to have La Frontera burritos again, and go to see a movie, or just not get up on time.
Now I would give anything to be able to go back to Chile and see the people again.
I have been reading a book called the Alchemist here at work at night and last night I read something that made me look at life in a new way.
Where I am in the book a young man is on his way to Egypt to see the Pyramids. He is traveling in a Caravan across the Sahara desert, and he has become good friends with the leader of the Caravan.
The Leader says to him one day that he doesnt think about the things in the past, nor the things that will happen in the future. When he is eating he thinks only about eating, and when he is traveling he keeps his mind on his travels. He doesnt worry about what will happen at the next stop, instead he worried about what he is doing in that moment.
He then goes onto say that this is the only real way to experience happiness. To live in the moment, and not worry about what has already happened or what is going to happen in the future. Just enjoy life as it is.
That made me think differently all the sudden. I always think that life will be so much better when my kids are older and Romina and I have more money. But I know that if I think that way, when the day comes that all that happens, I am gonna long for the days I am in right now. So I got home this morning and hugged and kissed my kids and enjoyed them for who they are right now. Because soon I won't be able to. Does that make sense?
Anyway, I don't think you are getting trunky or anything. I am not even trying to lecture you about anything. I just thought I would share my thoughts with you and maybe it will help you one day! Take care and tell the Chilean people I love em.
Love
Marc.
